Ian Hirschler serves as senior biologist and project manager for RBC and has nearly 10 years of professional experience working as a wildlife biologist, including a wide range of project types and environmental issues throughout California. Ian holds a B.S. in field and wildlife biology and is well-versed in ecology and field biology. Ian is permitted to conduct surveys for several endangered species including Quino checkerspot butterfly, coastal California gnatcatcher, and all listed vernal pool branchiopods in the state of California. Additionally, Ian performs surveys for a variety of special-status wildlife species including burrowing owl, least Bell’s vireo, Hermes copper butterfly, Delhi Sands flower-lovingfly, desert tortoise, arroyo toad, and Stephen’s kangaroo rat. Ian works as a biological field lead and supervisor and conducts biological and revegetation monitoring, nesting bird surveys, and vegetation mapping; and aids in the preparation of CEQA/NEPA-compliant biological technical reports. As a project manager, Ian coordinates teams of technical specialists across disciplines toensure project compliance with all necessary federal, state, and local regulations.
