Jim Rocks serves as principal biologist for the firm and is responsible for overseeing project fieldwork and ensuring technical accuracy and completeness of projects and reports. Jim holds an M.S. in biological sciences and has over 25 years of experience in biological resources throughout California and the greater southwest. Jim is permitted to conduct surveys for Quino checkerspot butterfly, coastal California gnatcatcher, and all listed vernal pool branchiopods in the state of California. Jim has extensive experience conducting and managing sensitive plant and wildlife species surveys, wetland delineations, biological impact analyses, and regulatory permitting. Jim has authored a variety of technical reports including biological technical reports, restoration and monitoring plans, biological assessments, and biological resource sections for Environmental Impact Reports. Jim is a department associate with the San Diego Natural History Museum Botany Department where he has taught several botanical classes and serves as habitat manager for the San Diego Habitat Conservancy.
